Hellooo....
Just a quick one i'd thought i would share with you my steampunk mannequin i made a couple of months ago, i don't have it now as my sister wanted it lol :) i didn't realise that i hadn't post it on here i've since bought another one i just need to get around to decorating it....you know how it is!
This is what i did: for the skirt i used some fabric i got with some flowers that i had received, so i folded the fabric in half and put a running stitch to create a waist band, i then got my heat tool and burnt holes in it...this was great fun but i did have to control myself lol. The flowers are made from metal foil and i used Tim Holtz tattered floral dies for the flowers, i then used an embossing folder to add more texture along with a bit of alcohol ink, i then shaped the flowers and stuck them on with a hot glue gun. the belt is a bit of chain that i acquired from somewhere!?! and attached some metal embellishments onto it. the wings are made from metal plumbing tape and used the patch work metal technique with alcohol inks. the other embellishments i had picked up along the way....the ball chain around the neck is a bit that was left over from some blinds we had fitted so that also got a splash of alcohol inks on them too!
Thank you for stopping by and looking
Take care Elx

Happy New Year...I know it's a bit late!
Hellooo everyone
I hope you all had a good Christmas and a happy new year.... i know it's near the end of January but seriously where has time gone!! but me being me i'm either behind with everything or super organised never seem to run on time.... most be a Libra thing!
Sooo i've joined the art journaling calender challenge....i started off by running late with my January page and now i've caught up and I'm on April - see what i mean it's all or nothing lol!
March page, this is how it started....
This is how it finished......
i really enjoyed making this page and the colours are to represent spring. The stamps are by the octopede factory, i lurve Lily's designs :)
I found the quote on pinterest i think "if i was alice i would have never left wonderland" that sums me up to a T!
The background colours are of Tim's spring collection i used a drop of refill ink and made them into sprays and also used some of Dyan's spray's too..i've also used perfect pearls on the mushrooms, but again the photo's don't show this.
April-not quite finished yet but i used Dylusions ruby rainbow. In England, April usually means April showers,(although these days i'm surprised we haven't got webbed feet with the amount of rain we have!)so i thought i used a rainbow of colours as we do get many rainbow's at this time of year and if you want colour Dyan's sprays are the best for this!
The song "rain drops keep falling on my head" popped in my head while i was making this page so i had to put it in...i have been watching Kate's dvd so i had picked up a couple of ideas with what she was using and showing. i found a Claudine Hellmouth foam stamp, in my wee collection!, in the shape of raindrops - ideal i thought!

January - this one does look a little different now, i've added alot of doodles but using a white pen so you can't really see it...but it is there i promise :)
February - one of my favourite stamps-Moth fab by Stampotique. I did a purple page as this is the colour of the birthstone Amethyst for February and everybody else was using red for valentines...it's looks a little blue on here but i'm sure that's my photography skills that i lack! ;)

.....Painting paint brushes!.....
Hello everyone :).......
Just wanted to share with you my painted paint brushes before one of them flies of to America where it will hang on Donna Downey's Wall in her new studio. So i thought i would use my favourite colours and my favourite stamp, with wings and glitter...it doesn't seem to be showing up on the pictures, but thats probably my wonderful photography lol.
Ok, so i've ready had the mick taken out of me from Gareth and my best buddy Val.....they think i've lost the plot, as i don't receive anything back, but i just like the idea of a bit of my work hanging on a wall in North Carolina, and since i hate travelling i can't ever see myself going to see it, so i made 2! both the same but one will hang on my wall and the other will be on the other side of the pond.....the smaller one is going to America and Gareth donated the other brush for me to decorate...

Poppies....
Hellooo, hope you are well.......:)
I've just finished my second canvas and i thought i would share it with you, as i'm quite impressed with myself!! of course i've had a little help from a download i got from Donna Downeys which guide you through the process but i have drawn the grungy poppies :)
I have used watercolors on canvas! this can be done by using a product called absorbent ground, i used the neocolor water-soluble wax pastels which are fabby....i need to but a tin on my birthday list as they are not cheap but are worth every penny!!
For the background i used an old dictionary to give it some texture and then have stenciled around the edge of the canvas just to give it an effect, the stencil used is by crafters workshop.
the canvas is a 14x14
stencil and paint blobs

Been doodling around again
Hellooo:)
Hope you are all well. Wanted to blog my latest journaling pages. I learnt to draw faces when i took a journaling class with Lindsay Mason a couple of years ago, and then recently i've had the erge to do them.....for whatever reason i don't know, any-hoow this is what i've done:-
This is my first attempt at a face, i decided to do cats eyes for a change, (thought it was a bit quirky) and anyone who knows me, know i love pinks and glitter, so i went for the whole hog on this one!
this one i've named Cher and is my favourite out of the 2, she says,"Life beats you down and crushes the soul, Art reminds you that you have one..." For the head i've done some zentangle patterns, this is to represent what goes on in my head....worrying i know lol!
Thanks for looking

Oodles of Doodles!.....
Hello :0)
I'd thought i would post these pictures I've done recently on here as I have a great response from a group I'm in on Facebook called Art journaling for women, I was truly overwhelmed at the response I had to one of my pages. I've discovered a name for doodling - Zentangle - I'm not too sure how i came across it but when i saw this i thought wow, i've gotta have a go at this,( i had already was doing it without even realizing it!). So i bought a book called Totally Tangled by Sandy Steen Bartholomew, i know at the time i felt a bit stale with my doodling and needed some inspirational ideas and this book has really helped me. Anyhoow here is what i came up with....
